Defeating Coldcut

Before shattering Mister Freeze, you need to go through his...special cousin shall we say? Coldcut is a gigantic, rather large blue ice man who guards the "gizmo" (as he calls it) which helps Nora (Mister Freeze's wife) become reanimated and cured of whatever disease she has in the first place. No brains and all muscle as the big guys in games generally are, this guy can be a piece of cake or as hard as a rock, depending on how you approach him. Now if you are going through the whole game as a group then this should be easy enough for you, but if you're like me and tend to brave things out on your own and need some help, well here it is.

Coldcut isn't the brightest tool in the shed we've established thus far, he's a guard not a scientist. He enjoys eating and having a healthy stomach. To defeat him however does not require a lot of brains but is a little difficult. Going straight in for the attack is just not going to work. So for now just dodge and avoid his attacks. After a few attempts at crushing you with his gorilla like fists, Coldcut gets a bit peckish and goes to one of the many vending machines to stuff his face. Take advantage of this with a few ranged attacks and then continue dodging his gorilla like attacks until he gets a tummy ache. Once Coldcut is in his stunned state of illness, go and attack him now. Repeat this a few times and he'll melt in the palm of your hands.

And yes your health does go down continuously in this part of the mission as it is raining inside a giant freezer...so be quick about it.

Defeating Mister Freeze

After helping Mister Freeze steal a bunch of diamonds to save his wife, you eventually have to turn on him. Not sure if you kill his wife or just prevent him from curing her, but either way he's not too happy about your 'treachery' against him. Mister Freeze is quite a difficult opponent if you are on your own and it doesn't help if you're the same level as the mission or lower.

So you start exchanging fists with the ice man and he then he calls his goons and magically after they're all gone (from you pounding them) he has all his health back. "Damn it, I knew I missed out on something!" you say...? Well threat no more, here's The V's help guide to shattering some ice cubes and smearing some frosting on a cake.

Smack Mister Freeze around a bit and then when he calls his goons, make sure you kick the fat ones butt first! When Freeze calls his goons to come attack you, one of them is Freeze's Medic Man. He's really called a freeze regenerator or something similar, you cant miss him, he's the fattest goon there. Attack him first and stop him from getting to the cylindrical device which is next to an icy circle thingy that Mister Freeze is now standing on. That's what heals the ice man so make sure he doesn't get the chance. After killing the fat guy see to it that the other two don't kill you before you kill them, so knock em dead!

After a few repeats of this (about three if you're good) Mister Freeze will eventually fall down defeated and you collect the diamonds off of him. So in defeating Mr Freeze you should focus on a lot of ranged attacks and only go in for face to face combat when you have the upper hand or advantage. A lot of stun attacks help. Make sure you have plenty of sodas on you, there are health barrels around but you never know when you'll need them. Sometimes a soda is just easier to get to.

Missions Too Hard

A lot of people have been complaining lately about the fact that the missions have too lower levels recommended for the actual difficulty of the mission itself. Obviously if you are Level 5 and you attempt a Level 10 mission you will have a lot of difficulty even if you are a skilled player. The level indicated underneath the mission title may not actually indicate the level YOU should be to attempt it, but could indicate the level that the MISSION is. For example a Level 12 mission will be hard for a Level 12 character, medium for a Level 15 and rather easy for a Level 18 character and of course piece of cake for a Level 30 character. Also if you haven't noticed by now the missions recommended levels turn different colours. Orange wont do you any good, too hard. But blue on the other hand is slightly okay as this would make the mission medium difficulty. And last but not least we have green which means go forth and kick some butt because it'll be easy enough to go for! (excluding bounties)

So instead of at the beginning of the game at the start menu like most games where you get to choose the difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Hell) it's your level at which you choose to attempt a mission which makes it harder or easier in the difficulty settings of the game. This may not be true but a theory I have on the whole subject.

To deal with this just level up higher than the indicated mission level and then attempt the mission, it will make the game so much easier for you, and will also allow you to eliminate lower level opponents attempting the mission as well (applies only in PVP worlds).

Any comments or questions or even your own theories are welcome.

Aphrodite

The Greek Goddess of Love. A hermaphrodite and a character in the DC Universe Online Aphrodite calls upon you to serve in her realm. This is a new patch added before Valentines day 2011 where you become either a Cherub or Evil Cupid with a backwards cap and sunnies (assuming you're a guy, if you're a girl you either wear red or a white short dress). You will become an acrobat (if not already one) and will lose all your weapons and powers whilst in the realm (do not panic, they return when you leave) which will be replaced by other powers and a pathetically low leveled bow.

You have three missions in the whole of Aphrodites realm and they are a pinch to complete. First mission is to turn Good/Evil enemies (which ever applies to you) into Evil/Good. So if they're good make them evil, if they're evil make them good, etc, etc. If you are having trouble with this, read on and I'll tell you how to do so.

First you need to defeat you're opponent (they are AI so it should be rather simple) and then after exchanging arrows, fists and whips/ground pounds, you then trap your opponent in a heart. You pick your opponent up, carry them to the referred fountain and then drop them there. Once dropped the enemy will gradually get bigger after calling for hearts of either Scorn or Redemption (not sure what they were called feel free to correct me), you need to destroy them before they get to your opponent so the turning process is complete. After the required amount of hearts is destroyed the opponent will then sink into the fountain and will surface as either a good or evil being depending on your choice of side. This needs to be repeated two more times and you're done.

You're second mission or more part of the first mission is to collect hearts of whatever side you're on. Now they might be confusing a bit here. You don't shoot them, whip them or punch them to collect them. You just have to glide through them. Collect twenty of the right hearts and you move on to the third and final mission.

For the third act of the love dove show, you have to turn heartless valentines into either scorn or lovey dovey cutsie wootsie. Do this by shooting the purple aura people and making them follow you to the giant heart of which ever side you're on. Once you get fifteen you're done with those guys so you might as well finish capping off ten of the enemies. And then you've finished Aphrodites realm.

Your usual direction text tells you to go to a race, but other than that flying race you're done. Go back to Metropolis and continue the rest of the game.

Defeating Zattana/Etrigan

Zattana is another hero in which on the Villain's side you may have to defeat (eventually you always will). She does however pop up a few times in the game to defeat her (i.e Raven/Trigon missions). This time we're going to souly look at defeating her when Zattana is protecting Eclipso and trying to stop you from releasing him.

First you must kill all of the magic foot soldiers to even get to eclipso to release him whilst also releasing Night Walkers all over the place. After eliminating all enemies in certain rooms you can pass and progress forward towards the chamber in which Eclipso is held prisoner. After releasing Eclipso you get a cut scene blah blah blah, and then Zattana appears out of no where to save the day! Which is what you're there to prevent. Zattana has no real brain work involved to defeat her, just keep knocking her down with weapons and super powers. What you do need to watch out for is her teleporting. There is unfortunately a glitch where she teleports onto the roof where you cannot get to her nor can she you and she will not teleport again. This means you need to warp to rally point or quit the game and start the whole thing again (warping takes less effort). So refrain from going on the roof or flying up too high to heal (only place you can get far enough away from her to heal is the roof unfortunately) and make sure you are well equipped with Sodas.

After eventually knocking Zattana out of the game (for a little while) she will then summon Etrigan the demon. He is somewhat harder than Zattana in defeating as he is a demon, but none the less an opponent able of defeat. Close combat is not recommended but necessary in small doses as it kills faster than most ranged attacks. Etrigans attention will be focused on Eclipso for most of the time he's living so take advantage of that and get some close face to face combat going on. After he is eventually defeated, Zattana will return to try and finish you and Eclipso off.

Defeating Zattana is easy with just knocking her down here and there and using multiple combo moves. Don't forget you can dodge and block as well. Just again make sure not to go on the roof and save your sodas for when you need them. After eventually defeating Zattana you then speak with Eclipso and then you get Etrigans poetic cut scene.

Congratulations, you just kicked Zattanas ass.

SIDE MISSION: Remember to do the side missions to level up faster in the DC Universe
The 'Side Mission' in releasing Eclipso is a bit hidden but easy as anything once you begin it. There are book cases all over the building, a few of them are destroyable. The first one has a blue ring around it thus beginning the side mission. Circe will call you naughty and then tell you to destroy the rest as the book cases hold books that collect magic for the Sentinels.
